How to convert audio
Drop your audio files, choose the format and tap Convert. MP3 plays on any device and is what most sites and apps ask for. M4A (AAC) is the iPhone format, sounding better than MP3 at the same size. WAV has no compression at all, FLAC compresses without losing anything and OGG (Opus) is the lightest for speech.
For MP3 and M4A you choose the quality: 128 kbps is fine for speech and podcasts, 192 kbps is the sweet spot for music, and 320 kbps is the MP3 maximum. To keep a recording with nothing lost, use FLAC or WAV.
A WhatsApp voice note (OGG/Opus) that won’t open somewhere? Convert it to MP3. A WAV recording too big to send? MP3 at 128 or 192 kbps is about 7 to 11 times smaller.

Example: the WAV recording too big to send
A recorder produced a 10-minute interview as CD-quality WAV: about 106 MB, because WAV isn’t compressed. As MP3 at 192 kbps it’s about 14 MB — more than seven times smaller — and at 128 kbps about 10 MB, plenty for voice and small enough to email. To keep the original with nothing lost, FLAC shrinks it while keeping every detail.

How do I convert WAV to MP3?

How do I convert a WhatsApp voice note to MP3?

What’s the difference between MP3, M4A, WAV and FLAC?
