Drop the PDF. If it asks for a password to open — card and bank statements often do —, type the password. The new PDF has no password and opens right away, on any device.
PDFs that open without a password but block printing, copying text or editing are unlocked too: the new file comes out with no restrictions. The page shows what was being blocked.
Text stays text: the PDF is truly decrypted, object by object — not a “photo” of the pages. You can select, search, edit and compress the result as usual.
Everything happens in your browser: the password and the document never leave your device. Use it for your own documents, or ones you have the right to open: the tool doesn’t guess anyone’s password.
Example: the bank statement that asks for a password
Your monthly statement arrives by email asking for a password every time you open it. Drop the PDF, type the password once and download: the new file opens straight away, including in the accounting program or app that wouldn’t accept password-protected PDFs. The text stays selectable for copying amounts.
Questions about unlocking PDFs
Do I need to know the password?
For a PDF that asks for a password to open, yes. The tool doesn’t crack anyone’s password: it removes the password from a file you can already open.
What about a PDF that opens but won’t print?
That one is unlocked without a password: the new file has no printing, copying or editing restrictions, and the screen shows what was blocked.
Does the unlocked PDF become an image?
No. It’s properly decrypted, and text stays text: you can search, copy and edit it.
Is it safe to type the password here?
The password is used only in your browser to decrypt the file and isn’t sent anywhere.
