Drop the PDF and type the watermark text, or choose an image (your company logo as a transparent PNG works best). Adjust color, opacity, angle (diagonal or straight) and position: centered or tiled across the page, which is harder to crop out. The preview shows the result on the first page.
You can stamp every page or only some (e.g. “1, 3-5”). A watermark is the simple way to show a document is a copy, to mark who it was sent to, or to protect a quote or portfolio from unauthorized use.
The watermark goes over the content, see-through, and the PDF’s text stays selectable. Logo without a clean background? Background remover takes the background off any image.
Everything happens in your browser: neither the PDF nor your logo is uploaded anywhere. To also stop copying or printing, run Protect PDF afterwards.
Example: the quote that shouldn’t circulate
A quote is going to three clients and you want to know where it came from if it shows up elsewhere. Type “Prepared for Builder X”, choose gray at 25% opacity, diagonal and tiled — harder to crop out — and make one version per client. To stop the text being copied too, run it through Protect PDF afterwards.
Questions about PDF watermarks
Can I use my company logo?
Yes: choose the logo image. A PNG with a transparent background works best; if your logo has a background, the Background remover takes it off.
Does the watermark cover the text?
It sits on top, as transparent as you choose, and the PDF’s text stays readable and selectable.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes: type the pages, like “1, 3-5”, instead of marking all of them.
Can the watermark be removed?
Someone with a PDF editor could try. The repeated tile pattern combined with Protect PDF makes it much harder.
