How background removal works
Everything happens in your browser: the image is never sent to any server. On the first photo, Imagyc downloads the cutter (about 40 MB, only once; after that it stays stored in your browser).
Logos, drawings and illustrations on a flat, single-color background are cut out by color, with no AI and nothing to download: the outline comes out exact, even on thin strokes. If the drawing has closed areas in the background color, like the holes in letters, tick the option to remove the background inside them too.
For photos, two AI models work together: one specialised in people, clothing and hair, the other in products and objects. Imagyc picks person, object or person + object (someone holding a product, a bowl, a racket) automatically; if the cutout isn’t right, the buttons just below the result switch instantly. When the background shows through the subject, like between the slats of a chair or the strings of a racket, tick the option to remove it too.
It works best with a main subject that stands out from the background. The hardest cases are glass objects, objects the same color as the background (a white candle on a white table) and many objects scattered across the photo. When a piece of background is left (a poster behind, someone at the side) or a part is missing, the Erase / Restore brush below the result fixes it by hand in seconds.
The PNG has a transparent background, for collages, websites and slides. The JPG has a pure white background, the standard for the main product photo on marketplaces like Amazon.
